Eric Joseph Almason, 58, of Tracy, California, was shot and killed at his ranch on Lammers Road on January 24, 2022. A retired sheet metal worker who enjoyed ranch life and riding horses, Almason was described as a devoted husband to his wife Raquel and a father to his son Dillon, and was active mentoring local high school students. Neighbors alerted him to a possible break-in that night; when he confronted an intruder the encounter turned fatal and Almason was pronounced dead at the scene.
San Joaquin County Sheriff’s investigators identified 49-year-old Robert Inderbitzen as the suspect. Inderbitzen was arrested in Stanislaus County on unrelated charges, extradited to San Joaquin County, and charged with murder; detectives say they recovered the weapon believed to have been used. The case remains in the courts as the community of Tracy continues to mourn.
Did anyone know Eric, his family, or have information about activity near Lammers Road on January 24, 2022?
