Alicia Flores, 21, was shot multiple times and killed on December 30, 2021, in the parking lot outside the Centerfolds nightclub north of Chico. The shooting happened just after 11 p.m.; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Alicia had been at the club with a friend and the friend’s boyfriend, 29-year-old Fernando Palomares of Vina. The three arrived around 9:40 p.m. and were seen entering and exiting the club several times before the shooting.

Palomares, who had been on parole since May 2021 following a 2013 stabbing conviction in Chico, was identified as the primary suspect. He was seen fleeing the scene and was later found walking along Highway 99 near Rowles Road about seven miles from the nightclub at approximately 4:30 a.m. the next morning. He was arrested and charged with murder and additional counts for using a handgun and was arraigned and held without bail.

Anyone with information about Alicia’s death or who saw events around Centerfolds that night is asked to come forward.
