On January 15, 2014, a verbal argument in a home on North Donmoore Avenue in Baton Rouge ended when 29-year-old Maura Baquedano, a Hispanic woman, was struck in the head with an object and died at the scene. The altercation involved a relative who shared the residence.
Detectives quickly identified the suspect as 37-year-old Antonio Baquedano, the victim’s cousin. Investigators say he fled before officers arrived; a warrant was issued charging him with second-degree murder. At the time he was last seen he was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 4 inches, about 150 to 160 pounds, wearing jeans, a camouflage jacket, and an LSU ball cap.
Authorities report Antonio Baquedano remained at large and the homicide was unsolved, with him listed as a wanted fugitive as of late 2019. Does anyone have information about Antonio Baquedano’s whereabouts or Maura’s final hours?
