Myron Crenshaw Jr., 29, of Vallejo, was killed in a shooting at a birthday party in Oakley, California, on November 6, 2021. The shooting happened about 9:20 p.m. at a house on Malicoat Avenue after a fight broke out between guests and the family hosting the event. Anthony Hernandez, 44, of Brentwood, was also killed and two other adults were hospitalized with injuries.

A 22-year-old man was arrested immediately after the shooting on suspicion of murder, but the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office later declined to file charges, citing the difficulties prosecutors face in chaotic party scenes where multiple people may be involved and self-defense claims are hard to disprove. The Oakley Police Department says the investigation remains open and has not ruled out other people being involved.

Does anyone who attended or lived near Malicoat Avenue that night have information that could help clarify what happened?
