Cameron Gabriel, 48, was found shot to death in his Rocklin, California, home on July 27, 2021. Investigators determined he had been shot seven times. Gabriel’s roommate discovered the body after returning from a weekend away; police found the home had been broken into and described Gabriel as likely targeted, with motive initially unclear.

Surveillance footage later showed a shadowy figure entering Gabriel’s home around the time of the killing. That evidence led to the arrest of 31-year-old Damon Allen Benson of Rancho Cordova. Prosecutors said Benson had obtained Gabriel’s address by torturing a woman he met on Tinder, carving a swastika into her back while holding her captive, then using the information to ambush Gabriel. Benson was convicted of murder, torture, and mayhem; the trial record included footage that contradicted his claim of self-defense.

Gabriel’s family and friends remembered him as kind and generous and remain in shock. Does anyone have information about Gabriel, his routines, or the neighborhood around July 27, 2021?
