Omari Ernest-Zakee Lowery was 15 and lived in Antelope, California when he was fatally shot on July 19, 2021. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified Lowery as the victim; deputies responded to reports of gunfire near the 3900 block of Onawa Court and found him with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released information about suspects or a motive, and no arrests have been announced. A vigil in Antelope brought friends, family, and community members together to remember Lowery and call for an end to violence. The investigation remains open; anyone with information is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
