I’ve been thinking about the potential impact of the surveillance footage on this case, and it's really troubling that even with the images out there, the suspects haven't yet been identified. It makes me wonder if they might be locals or if they possibly managed to leave the area without being noticed. Have there been any additional captures from nearby cameras that might show where they went after fleeing? It’s frustrating to think that two people could just vanish in an area that’s usually bustling with activity.
Ernesto Gonzalez seemed to have been someone who took pride in keeping others safe, and it's unsettling knowing that his killers are still out there. I can't imagine what his family must be going through, not having any closure after all this time. This case being unsolved after so long just emphasizes how important community involvement is in situations like this. Even the smallest detail could make a difference and help bring some peace to his loved ones. Hoping someone sees those images again and thinks, "Hey, I remember those guys."
The latest update on Ernesto Gonzalez’s case really got me thinking about the role of security guards and the risks they face every day. Ernesto was simply doing his job, making sure his community was safe, when he was senselessly taken away from us. It's unsettling to think about how vulnerable essential workers like him might be, especially when they're right in the crosshairs while protecting others.
I read that security guard jobs can sometimes escalate into dangerous situations, especially in nightlife spots like bars. These individuals are truly on the frontline, and Ernesto’s story is a grim reminder of that reality. It’s important to support and acknowledge their efforts and the silent risks they take for our safety.
I hope that by keeping conversations going about this case, we can help find Ernesto’s killers. Justice needs to be served, not only for him but also as a message to deter future violence. My thoughts are with his family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Does anyone else feel that the location of the shooting might be a key element in solving this case? When I think about Ernesto Gonzalez's murder outside Chelato’s Bar and Grill, it's hard not to imagine the Rolando area as a pretty busy spot, especially on a night out. The fact that it happened in a public area might mean more people saw something than we realize.
It's been over two years, and it seems like witnesses surely would've remembered seeing something suspicious, right? I wonder if any local businesses had additional surveillance that wasn’t initially reviewed. Those dark-clothed suspects had to pass several places if they fled towards 72nd Street. Perhaps someone saw them the night of or acting suspiciously in the days beforehand.
It’s just disconcerting to think the crime remains unsolved with so many people around that night. I'm praying that the renewed calls for information touch someone with crucial details. Ernesto’s family and friends deserve answers, and it would be a real solace to see justice served. If you were in that area on May 12, 2021, please revisit that night in your mind—you never know what small detail might prove vital.
