Leticia Solis Guzman, 58, was killed in a targeted mass shooting at the Unified Homes office in Orange, California, on the afternoon of March 31, 2021. A dedicated real estate agent and single mother of four, she was remembered by family and friends as hardworking, fashion-conscious, and fond of dancing and family movie nights. She posted on Facebook that morning, How time flies, but thank God, with health and work.
According to investigators, a gunman secured the courtyard gates from the inside with bicycle-style cable locks before opening fire with a semi-automatic handgun. Leticia was one of four people killed; a fifth person was critically wounded and survived. Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect through the locked gates and used bolt-cutters to enter; they found the gunman injured and took him into custody. The shooter, identified as 44-year-old Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, had personal and business ties to the adult victims and was charged with multiple counts including four counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
Court-appointed experts later found Gonzalez incompetent to stand trial after a head injury sustained in the shootout left him unable to communicate with counsel or understand the proceedings; criminal proceedings were paused as of November 2021. If anyone knew Leticia or has information about her life or the case, please share what you can.
