Michael Iliff, 64, of Discovery Bay, California, was found dead in his home on February 20, 2021, having been shot multiple times. A retired IT specialist with Caltrans, he was remembered by family and friends for his music, woodworking and outdoor interests, and for a generous nature that led him to let others stay in his home.

Investigators say Darryon Williams, 29, of Stockton, was identified as the person who shot and killed Iliff. Williams was reportedly staying at Iliff’s house with his then-4-year-old son and the child’s mother, Kimberly Meeks. After the killing, Williams is accused of a string of violent acts including shooting at paramedics in Antioch and committing armed robbery, and he was arrested soon after.

Williams faced numerous charges stemming from the murder and the subsequent crime spree. The case was delayed from an initial trial date in 2022; later developments included a no contest plea and a 37-year prison agreement in June 2024. If anyone knew Michael or saw activity near his home around February 20, 2021, please share what was observed.
