Has anyone else been struck by the chilling lack of remorse Jesse Alvarez showed throughout his trial? From everything that's come out about the case, it seems like the prosecution had a pretty tight grip on the whole motive - the jealousy and obsession with Amy Gembara. But what I can't wrap my head around is that, despite all this, Alvarez maintained a facade of self-defense. I mean, it's one thing to grapple with feelings of jealousy and another to meticulously plan such a cruel act. Thinking about Mario Fierro's friends and family, it must be incredibly difficult for them to not only deal with their loss but also to hear these defense claims in court. It's such a frustrating attempt to twist the narrative when the evidence clearly points to a premeditated murder. Fierro was just starting his day, ready to inspire and educate, and it's deeply saddening that his life was taken so senselessly. With Alvarez facing life in prison now, I hope that, in time, Mario's loved ones can find some peace, knowing that justice was served for someone who so clearly touched the lives of many in his community. Thoughts are with them as they navigate these difficult times.

Does anyone else find it incredibly chilling that Alvarez took gun safety courses before this tragedy? It’s unsettling to think that someone would use a learning opportunity meant for responsible handling of firearms to instead carry out such a horrible act. Thoughts and prayers go out to Mario Fierro's family and friends; I can’t imagine the pain they’re going through. It's just so difficult to comprehend how things escalated to such a devastating point. Just wondering if the defense's claim of self-defense holds any credibility for anyone? It seems like so much evidence points to a premeditated act.
