I'm still shaken thinking about Isaiah Chappell and his story that I just learned about. It's been over two years since that tragic night, and I can't help but feel for all the lives that were changed forever. Something that caught my attention was the important role Isaiah's family played throughout the entire legal process. Their courage and resilience just blows me away. They attended every single court hearing and led vigils, showing an incredible amount of strength. They even actively pushed for initiatives to tackle gun violence after Isaiah's passing. Every time I read about cases like this, it's always a stark reminder of the personal impact of gun violence, not just on victims, but on their families and communities too. Even though there’s been some progress in terms of arrests and convictions, the pain and memory of their loss never truly go away. My heart goes out to them and everyone affected. I hope we can continue to support reforms and create safer communities so fewer families have to endure this kind of loss in the future.
