I've been following the investigation into Hasani Smith’s murder and can't shake the feeling that there's more to the story that's not being talked about. It's just so tragic that such a young and promising life was cut short in Willowbrook—a place that I'm sure Hasani and others called home. It's baffling and frustrating to see how the case remains unsolved two years later. I'm thinking a lot about the role the community can play in cases like this. It’s so important for everyone to be engaged and willing to speak up, even if it's just about the smallest detail. Maybe someone out there saw something but dismissed it as unimportant. It's amazing how tiny details can fit into the bigger puzzle. I understand that fear of retaliation or distrust in law enforcement can be reasons people hold back information, but keeping silent just allows this cycle of violence to continue. If anyone knows something, even if it's just a rumor or a vague recollection, I hope they find the courage to come forward for Hasani’s family, who deserve answers and justice. Let's continue to support them in any way we can and remember Hasani for the good person he was. ?
