Hey everyone, I’ve been following Dezay Richardson’s case closely, and something that’s been on my mind is the community response, especially the vigils and the calls for peace. It really shows how deeply Dezay's death affected North Highlands and brought the community together in grief and a shared desire for change. It's incredibly moving to see neighbors, regardless of background, rallying for a common cause and supporting each other in such difficult times. But it’s also a stark reminder of how youth violence can impact an entire community, not just the families directly involved. The fact that even with arrests made, the motive is still unclear just rattles me. It makes me wonder, what more can be done to prevent violence like this? How do we protect our youth and create a safer environment for them?
