Alejandro Camacho, 45, was killed during a violent home invasion in the La Cresta area of Murrieta, California, on December 26, 2020. The robbery attempt involved three men who entered the residence on the morning after Christmas. A gunfight broke out between the intruders and occupants; both Camacho and one of the intruders, identified as Wang Lin, were fatally shot. Two others — Michael Tong Shun Zhang and an occupant of the house — were wounded and treated at Inland Valley Medical Center.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department identified Dong Yang as the driver and arrested him on charges including armed robbery and first-degree burglary, with a gun-use enhancement and $150,000 bail. Michael Tong Shun Zhang, who has a prior felony burglary conviction, was charged with two counts of murder including the death of his accomplice under California’s felony murder rule, plus attempted murder and burglary; his bail was set at $1 million. Investigators said the suspects intended to rob the home, but did not say why that particular residence was chosen.

Does anyone have information about the La Cresta area or the occupants on that night that could help the investigation?
