Leroy Paul Smith, a 66-year-old Black man, was shot and killed on November 15, 2020, near 8723 Bandera Street in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood of Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner classified his death as a homicide.

Investigators have cited a lack of witnesses and few solid leads, which has slowed progress and left the case open.
