Yesenia Arriaga Larsen, 30, and her husband William Adrian Larsen were found dead on November 9, 2020, on the shoulder of Highway 395 about 10 miles north of Bridgeport, California. A snowplow driver discovered their bodies; the couple were originally from Burbank and had no known ties to Mono County. The Mono County Sheriff’s Office described the crime as specific and targeted and said it posed no ongoing threat to the local community.
Investigators reported both had prior drug arrests: in 2018 they were arrested in Erie, Pennsylvania, with 84 pounds of marijuana and 1,200 THC vape cartridges. William served six months of a 24-month sentence; Yesenia completed a drug diversion program. Authorities linked the murders to a June 2020 missing person case involving Jered Stefansky and a $400,000 marijuana deal, and said the killings may have been a hit or payback. A $2,500 reward was offered for information; no arrests or suspects have been publicly identified and the investigation remains active.
If anyone knew the Larsens’ movements or has information about the connection to the Stefansky case, please come forward.
