Jon Charles Depoorter, 59, was one of two men killed in a shooting on Gail Lane in Shingletown, California, on June 27, 2020. The other victim was 66-year-old Michael Barton Stanfill. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office identified 35-year-old Daun Eric Sanders as the suspect. Sanders fled in a dark-colored pickup truck before deputies and Redding police arrived; he was considered armed and dangerous and the subject of an extensive manhunt. On July 1, 2020, Sanders was involved in two hit-and-run crashes on a southern California freeway and, while attempting to flee on foot across Interstate 15 in Ontario, was struck by a vehicle and killed. Investigators noted Sanders had a prior warrant from May 5, 2020, for failing to appear on domestic violence and vandalism charges. Authorities were also searching for Sanders’ father, William Bill Sanders, who had been missing since two days before the shooting.
The motive for the shootings had not been established in the material provided. Does anyone have reliable information about William Bill Sanders’ whereabouts before June 27, 2020, or about any connection between him and the victims?
