I’ve been thinking a lot about the Vallejo Police Department's history leading up to Sean Monterrosa’s tragic death. It’s incredibly troubling that Vallejo had the highest per capita rate of police shootings in Northern California even before this incident. This pattern doesn’t just happen overnight—it's been brewing for years. Knowing that other families, like those of Ronnell Foster and Willie McCoy, have faced similar losses, it really urges us to ask some difficult questions about oversight and accountability. Sean’s family deserves full transparency in the investigation, and it's disheartening that they're still waiting for answers over three years later. The silence from the Attorney General’s office must be incredibly frustrating for them. We all need to continue demanding justice, not just for Sean but for all impacted by the pattern of violence in Vallejo. This isn't something that should just fade from discussion as the years pass; if anything, it should strengthen our resolve for change.
