Jairo Estrada, 30, was shot multiple times and killed on May 11, 2020, at the intersection of 4th and O Street in Sanger, California. Officers who responded to a 7:10 p.m. call that evening found Estrada with multiple gunshot wounds; he died at the scene. The Sanger Police Department and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office treated the incident as a homicide from the outset.
Authorities believe the shooting was gang-related and that Estrada had suspected gang affiliations. No arrests or publicly identified suspects have been reported, and the investigation remains open. Estrada is survived by his wife Shirley Bolanos and their children; the shooting, the city’s first homicide of the year, reverberated through the Sanger community.
If anyone knew Estrada, his movements that night, or has information about the shooting, please come forward to assist the investigation.
