Lee Major III, a 20-year-old from Fowler, California, was fatally shot during a house party on December 15, 2019. The gathering at a home on Sixth Street and Adams Avenue became violent after uninvited guests who identified themselves as gang members began causing trouble. Two other men were wounded; one, Jonathan Poytress, was shot in the arm while trying to de‑escalate.
Ornelas was arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, and assault with a firearm. He later pleaded no contest to second‑degree murder and was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison. Lee was remembered as a promising athlete and a new father; his brother Leguris Major honors his memory by wearing his football number, and his parents, Lee Edward Major Jr. and Latasha Williams, publicly forgave Ornelas.
Does anyone have information about Lee’s last night or the people who were at that party?
