David Junior Holguin, 40, was found dead on November 13, 2019, on the 39000 block of Cary Road in Anza, California after deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a shooting. He was discovered deceased on the property with a massive chest wound and additional injuries to his hands.
Investigators say the victim’s son, Anthony David Holguin, 22 at the time, was living in a trailer on the property with his girlfriend. A domestic dispute between Anthony and his girlfriend over her attention to pets escalated after Anthony, reportedly under the influence of methamphetamine, slapped her. Other residents sought help; David Holguin went to the trailer and knocked. Court documents state Anthony answered with a camouflaged shotgun and shot his father after David asked if he was going to shoot him.
Anthony was arrested on suspicion of murder after allegedly attempting to hide the firearm. He gave differing accounts, at times claiming self-defense and later saying he feared his father was armed; witnesses and evidence reportedly contradicted those statements. If anyone knew David Holguin or witnessed events on Cary Road that day, please share what was seen or heard.
