Omar Munoz, 25, was shot and killed on the night of August 15, 2019, in the 300 block of Harps Street in San Fernando, California. He had just moved his pickup truck closer to his home and was standing in the street when a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire. Munoz was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 9:30 p.m.; the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled the cause of death multiple gunshot wounds.

Munoz had recently proposed to his fiancée, Deanna Dellacqua, and they shared three young children. Family members described him as hardworking, devoted, and without gang ties or a criminal record other than a minor traffic ticket. Witnesses saw a light-colored sedan speeding away, but no detailed description of the shooter has been reported and no arrests or named suspects have been announced. Investigators have not established a clear motive; they have considered mistaken identity because of known gang activity in the area, but that remains unconfirmed.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is asking anyone with information to come forward; tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers. Did anyone in San Fernando see that light-colored sedan or notice anything unusual on Harps Street that night?
