Hi everyone,
I just came across the case of Cenovio "Novi" George Morales, and my heart really goes out to his family and friends. I can't imagine what they're going through right now. I'm curious about the community response since his tragic death. Have there been any initiatives, like community meetings or outreach programs, that have come up to address gun violence in Sylmar since this happened? Sometimes, tragically, it takes a young person's life being cut short for real change to take shape. I really hope that Cenovio's story becomes a catalyst for such discussions and actions in the area. If anyone knows how things have progressed or if there have been any positive changes, please share. It would be encouraging to know that his memory is stirring some community-driven efforts to make Sylmar safer.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I recently came across Novi's case and couldn't help but feel overwhelmed thinking about his friends and family and the struggle they're going through. Has anyone noticed how much the dynamics in these neighborhoods can impact the lives of young people like him? It’s so distressing to realize how normal it has become for these communities to deal with the fear of gun violence on a regular basis.
I was particularly touched reading about Novi's personality and how fondly people remember him. You can tell he left a lasting impression on those around him. The fact that there still haven't been any arrests or clear leads just adds to the frustration and helplessness surrounding this situation.
If anyone here is from the Sylmar area or knows more about the community initiatives being suggested to curb this violence, I'd love to learn more. How can the rest of us support efforts to make sure other kids like Novi can live their lives without fear?
My thoughts are with Novi’s family and friends during this incredibly challenging time. Let's keep his memory alive and push for change wherever we can.
