Robert Edwards was 33 and from Vacaville, California, when he was killed on June 15, 2019, in a targeted shooting on Interstate 80. Traveling eastbound near the Orange Drive exit, Edwards — a Bay Area rapper who also performed as Big Cholo — was driving a truck that was pulled alongside by another vehicle and riddled with bullets. He died at the scene and the California Highway Patrol has classified the incident as a homicide.

His wife, Mia Edwards, said he had recently started a trucking business and was focused on his music and family. A memorial was created at the shooting site and the community publicly mourned. CHP investigators have suggested the attack may have been gang-related and said a dark grey or black Toyota Prius was seen following Edwards’ truck; officers obtained the last three digits of that plate but no arrests have been announced.

Anyone with information about the shooting, the Prius, or that license plate sequence is asked to come forward.
