Corey Townley, 41, was shot and killed on May 22, 2019, after a family dispute in Oro Grande, California. Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station were sent to a home on Robinson Ranch Road about 10:45 a.m. for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers found Corey suffering from a gunshot wound; he was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma center, where he was pronounced dead.
Richard Townley, Corey’s father, was at the scene and was taken into custody. San Bernardino County investigators determined the fatal shooting followed a heated argument that turned physical, and Richard Townley was arrested and booked on murder charges. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Homicide Detective Josh Guerry or the dispatch tip line.
