Ryan Harsany, 43, was found dead inside his burning business, Cal Skate Grand Terrace, on March 16, 2019. Deputies responding to a silent robbery alarm discovered the building on fire and Harsany unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds; he died at a local hospital shortly before 7:30 a.m. that morning. Investigators said he had been shot and then set on fire, and that the crime occurred during a robbery at the skating rink.
Harsany grew up in Grand Terrace and later owned the rink where he spent much of his childhood. Friends and family described him as generous and non-confrontational; his twin brother Brian, a Brawley police officer, publicly expressed devastation and a desire for justice. On April 21, 2019, San Bernardino County authorities arrested 25-year-old Tre elle Potts of Moreno Valley and charged Potts with Harsany’s murder; Potts was held without bail as proceedings began.
Did anyone who visited or worked at Cal Skate Grand Terrace around March 16, 2019, notice anything unusual that morning?
