I'm just honestly devastated thinking about David's last moments. It was such a normal day, just out delivering birthday party invitations with his mom and girlfriend. Imagine the excitement and anticipation over his sister's upcoming birthday, and then suddenly, his life was stolen from him like that. It’s so senseless and cruel. He was just a kid with dreams, ready to head off to college and make something outstanding of himself. This whole tragic incident just highlights how important it is for communities to come together in fighting against gang violence. No family should have to endure such unbearable loss. Sending love and strength to David’s family and everyone who knew and loved him.

I'm still trying to process the sheer unfairness of what happened to David Amaro-Poblano. It's gut-wrenching to think about how he was just a teenager with such a promising future ahead of him. Imagine being an honor student with a soccer career and looking forward to college; it's all what you'd hope for someone so young. The fact that he was out with his mom and girlfriend, doing something as innocent as handing out birthday invitations, makes this tragedy even more difficult to comprehend. What struck me was how the community and even the Gardena City Council stepped up in support of David's family by offering a reward for information. It just shows how deeply David was cherished by those who knew him. I hope the actions taken by the authorities bring some comfort to those who loved him. My heart goes out to David's family during what must be an incredibly challenging time. They—and the community—remain in my thoughts.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this senseless tragedy has had on David Amaro-Poblano's family, particularly his sister. She was just about to celebrate her ninth birthday, and instead of her family gathering for a joyous occasion, they were faced with overwhelming grief. It’s unimaginable how this has affected her, losing her brother in such a violent way. David was obviously a loving sibling, out with his mom and girlfriend to hand out birthday invitations, something so pure, and all torn apart by this brutal act. Just wondering if anyone knows if there are resources or support structures being offered to the family, particularly his sister? This kind of trauma can be really hard, especially for a child. I hope the community is coming together to provide the support they desperately need. It’s encouraging to see that the city council approved that reward and I hope it brought some justice eventually - but I wish none of this had ever happened in the first place.
