Alejandro Mendez was an 18-year-old high school senior from Montclair, California, shot and killed on January 5, 2019. He was known for his dedication to his studies and his passions for skateboarding and basketball, often staying late at school to study before spending time at the park with friends. On the day he died he was outside the Northern Light Mobile Home Park, a location where he was frequently seen riding his bike, when he was shot.

Details about the circumstances leading to the shooting are scarce. Investigators reported no immediate arrests or identified suspects; a lack of witnesses and concrete evidence has made it difficult to reconstruct what happened. The community held vigils and memorials in his honor while police urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation remained open.

If anyone knew Alejandro, saw him at the mobile home park that day, or has information that could help the investigation, please contact the authorities handling the case.
