I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that a regular night out ended so horrifically for Astin and his friends. It's chilling to think how a moment can suddenly spiral out of control. My heart goes out to Astin’s family, especially since he seemed to have been an upstanding guy just living his life and working at the airport, not involved in any gang activities. It's truly unjust that gun violence has cast a shadow over another innocent life. No one should have to fear for their lives in what should be safe public spaces.
