Errol Matthew Friedman, a 21-year-old resident of San Anselmo, California, was found dead in a vehicle at Pickleweed Park in San Rafael on December 3, 2018, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office identified Friedman as the victim; a forensic post-mortem examination was scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. The shooting occurred around 6 p.m., and witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing the scene shortly afterward.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old boy from Fairfax, Daniel James Diaz, who was booked at the Marin County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder. Authorities stated the suspect was known to Friedman and the case remained under investigation as they sought a motive. Friedman is remembered by family as a beloved son, brother, and friend who supported others in his community.

Did anyone in the area that evening see events at Pickleweed Park or have information about Friedman’s movements that day?
