It's so painful to hear about cases like Bernard Ortiz's, where a life was just snuffed out in such a senseless manner. I was thinking about the location where his body was found, the alley on Bonwood Road in El Monte. Alleys often seem to be overlooked in these investigations but could they hold any more clues than we realize? I've read that sometimes these spaces can have limited visibility and even fewer CCTV cameras. Does anyone know if the authorities checked footage from nearby streets or businesses? Even a passing vehicle might have captured something unknowingly. For Bernard's family and friends, I can only imagine the turmoil of waiting for answers. We can only hope that someone comes forward with information, or that the detectives find a crucial piece of evidence that can finally bring some justice for Bernard. Sending strength to all those affected by his passing.
