Yesenia Becerril, 20, was found with severe upper-body injuries on South Vine Street in Fallbrook in the early hours of November 1, 2018, after multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Investigators determined she had been shot by her ex-boyfriend, Oscar Rodas, 27.

Family described the relationship as toxic and abusive; Yesenia had recently ended it and Rodas reportedly did not accept the breakup. Rodas was arrested the day after the shooting at the Color Spot Nursery in Fallbrook after a search that included a Sheriff’s K-9 unit. He was charged with murder and gun-related offenses.

Yesenia’s family remembered her as bright and caring. Does anyone who knew Yesenia or who was in that neighborhood that night have information that could add to the record?
