Andrew Rockey, 31 and living in Jupiter, California, was found dead on October 16, 2018. Deputies with the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office went to a report of a shooting around 10 p.m. and located Rockey’s body in a marijuana garden on property along Italian Bar Road near Rose Creek. Detectives determined he had been shot and described the circumstances as suspicious.

Investigators interviewed multiple witnesses, including a 3-year-old child who was living at the residence; the child was taken into custody by Child Welfare Services and authorities did not say what relationship, if any, the child had to Rockey or others at the scene. A week later, on October 24, 2018, the Sheriff’s Office announced an arrest connected to Rockey’s murder but did not release the suspect’s identity while the probe continued.

Anyone with information about what happened that night or who may have been involved is asked to come forward.
