Jose Jorge Lara Paez, a 66-year-old Latino known as the Mechanic, was found dead on October 11, 2018, in the 30900 block of East 106th Street in the Southeast Antelope Valley community of Littlerock, California. His body was recovered alongside the remains of Julieta Arvizu, 49, and Cuauhtemoc Lara, 39, who had been missing since January 14, 2018. Family and investigators noted all three had left behind their possessions and had no cellphone activity after January 14, which prompted suspicion of foul play.

The discovery came during an investigation of a property rented by Jesus Chuy Guzman, a suspected drug dealer who had been evicted from the site on August 30, 2018, the day deputies served a search warrant. Deputies reportedly found evidence of methamphetamine production, weapons, and stolen vehicles. Guzman is the primary suspect and remains at large; he is described as a Latino male, 5 feet 5 inches, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and often seen in Littlerock, Adelanto, Victorville, Riverside, and Compton driving a black 2009 Toyota Corolla. Investigators also want to question him about a February 20, 2018, double shooting on Mariano Panduro Campos’ property in Littlerock.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Does anyone have information about Guzman’s whereabouts or about the victims during January 2018?
