Julian Ramirez Ramirez, 45, of Richmond, California, was shot and killed on June 24, 2018, at an illegal cockfighting event on the 6500 block of Lakeville Highway in Petaluma. He was critically wounded at the scene, taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, and died shortly after arrival.
The shooting erupted during a dispute among attendees at the ranch where the cockfighting was taking place. The operation had been under scrutiny by local authorities, and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office opened an active investigation to identify who fired the fatal shots. Several arrests were made tied to the illegal cockfighting ring, and related charges included animal cruelty and illegal gambling, but determining the person responsible for Ramirez Ramirez’s death remained complicated by the chaotic scene and witnesses reluctant to come forward.
Does anyone with knowledge of that event or the people involved have information that could help clarify who shot Julian Ramirez Ramirez?
