On the morning of April 7, 2018, deputies in Barstow responded to an apartment in the 25000 block of West Main Street and found 27-year-old Trayana Denice Taylor deceased. Investigators determined she had suffered multiple injuries, and at least one gunshot wound was identified as the cause of death.

Investigators quickly focused on Taylor’s boyfriend, 37-year-old Andre Dewprey Woodard, who was found in possession of a loaded handgun and initially arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Evidence gathered at the scene and during the inquiry linked Woodard to Taylor’s death, and the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office charged him with murder. Motive was described as unclear while authorities continued building the case.

Taylor’s family established a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses, and investigators asked anyone with information to contact Detective Max Kunzman or Sergeant Robert Warrick or submit an anonymous tip through the We-Tip Hotline. Does anyone have information about Trayana’s final hours or who might be able to help the investigation?
