Jorge Antonio Nario, 17, of San Fernando was shot and killed on February 1, 2018, in the 13200 block of Maclay Street in Sylmar. LAPD Mission Division officers responded to a shots-fired call about 7:50 p.m.; Nario was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later. Investigators say he argued with occupants of a white SUV and, as he tried to open the passenger door, the driver shot him; the SUV then fled west on Maclay Street. Authorities believe the killing was related to a drug deal.

On March 19, 2018, Daniel Gonzalez, 19, was arrested and charged with one count of murder, with an allegation he used a handgun in the offense. The district attorney’s office handled the case. The community was asked to provide tips, including anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

If anyone knew Jorge, saw the white SUV that night, or has information that could help, please come forward.
