Aurice J. Turk, 25, of Spring Valley, California, was shot and killed during a confrontation in the parking lot of an Albertsons on Campo Road on January 4, 2018. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound. The altercation involved multiple people and escalated until shots were fired, leaving Turk fatally wounded.

Authorities identified 28-year-old Spring Valley resident Thomas Jackson as the primary suspect and arrested him; he was accused of shooting Turk and faced murder charges. The investigation and legal proceedings were active, and Turk’s family and the Spring Valley community were left dealing with the aftermath of the violence.
