Julius Ruff, 32, was killed by a gunshot to the chest on January 4, 2018, in the 2700 block of Fort Wayne Street in Oroville, California. Police say Ruff got into an altercation with Joshua Sealy and Christy Seim after the two drove to his home. During the confrontation, Seim allegedly attacked Ruff and Sealy fired a single round that struck Ruff in the chest; that same bullet also grazed Seim’s head. Ruff was taken to Oroville Hospital and died of his injuries.
Both Sealy, 31, and Seim, 27, were arrested and booked on multiple charges. Reports list Sealy facing murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, and Seim facing second-degree robbery and battery. Bail and court dates were set and proceedings were pending.
All three people were known to each other. Does anyone who knew Julius or was in that neighborhood on January 4 have information that could help clarify what happened?
