Amber Alvarado, an 18-year-old from Long Beach, California, was shot and killed on December 2, 2017, in Littlerock. Officers responding about 11:20 p.m. to a reported traffic collision on the 35000 block of 96th Street near State Route 138 found her inside a car with a gunshot wound; she was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Investigators noted the vehicle’s window appeared to have been shot out from the inside and that the car was registered to someone else, so detectives have been trying to locate the owner and determine why Amber was driving it. No weapon has been recovered, no suspect description has been released, and no arrests have been made. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has asked anyone with information to come forward.

If anyone knew Amber’s activities that night, who owned or had access to that vehicle, or saw anything on 96th Street near State Route 138 around 11:20 p.m., please share what is known.
