On October 12, 2017, Douglas Ferguson, 59, was shot to death in his home in Aliso Viejo, California. Luke descended the stairs with a handgun, shot his father multiple times, then shot him again after he fell.
The attacker also fatally shot Douglas’s girlfriend, Lisa Cosenza, 51, in the head. Two roommates, Todd Kuchar and Brandon Dufault, were also shot; Kuchar was struck while fleeing and Dufault was shot in the shower after the bathroom door was kicked down. Both Kuchar and Dufault survived. Luke fled the scene in Dufault’s vehicle and was later captured in Inglewood after a police chase. Luke had moved back into his father’s home about six weeks earlier amid household tension over his unemployment and drinking.
Were there details about the household or neighbors around that time that might shed more light on what led up to this confrontation?
