Theros Frank Fountaine, 46, of Santa Rosa was shot and killed the evening of September 22, 2017, near River Road and Trenton-Healdsburg Road in the unincorporated Forestville area of Sonoma County. Deputies and the Henry One helicopter found two men down at about 6:40 p.m.; Fountaine was deceased at the scene and the other man was critically injured and taken to a hospital on life support.

Investigators tied the shooting to a nearby marijuana grow site and described the deaths as marijuana-related because of the proximity of the grow operation to the scene. Detectives sought to identify suspects and to gather information from the surviving victim, whose identity has not been released, but as of the latest updates no arrests had been announced.

Anyone who was in the Forestville area around 6:40 p.m. on September 22, 2017, or who has information about the grow site or the shooting is urged to contact investigators.
