Danzel Gaines was a 23-year-old Black man from New Orleans whose life ended in gun violence on February 6, 2010. He was shot in the Algiers area, with the incident reported near the 1700 block of Hero Boulevard; some public references also list 849 Gordon Street on the same date.

Those sparse factual threads — a name, two street addresses, a date, and an open investigation — leave large gaps about motive, circumstances, and who was responsible.

Danzel was a son and a friend whose loss continues to matter to those who knew him. If anyone has information about what happened in Algiers on February 6, 2010, please come forward.
