Janet Mejia, 28, of Roseville, California, was reported missing on April 11, 2017 after she failed to show up for work and missed a doctor’s appointment. Her car was found abandoned April 12 in the Arden-Arcade area, a place with which she had no known connections. Her body was recovered along a road in Placer County on April 13, 2017; an autopsy determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound, and her death was ruled a homicide.

Investigators quickly focused on Mejia’s living situation. One roommate, Teris Vinson, who had been arrested on unrelated weapons charges, was identified as a person of interest and was later charged with Mejia’s murder; authorities say Vinson was taken into custody the day her body was found. Family members described Janet as kind and caring, and said she hoped to become an interpreter for the deaf, inspired by her nephew.

Does anyone have information about Janet’s movements in the days before April 11, 2017, or knew her circle of friends and roommates?
