Teresa Marie Gilcrease was 44 when she was last seen leaving The Stick, a pool hall and bar in Alexandria, Louisiana, in the early morning hours of June 10, 2002. She had driven a friend home the night before and was seen at the bar leaving with an unidentified man; that was the last confirmed sighting of her alive.
Later that morning her body was found on the side of a rural road outside Alexandria. She had been stabbed multiple times and run over with a vehicle. Her rental car was recovered in the bar’s parking lot. Investigators initially treated the violence as potentially personal but also considered the possibility of random attack. Detective work examined roughly 50 potential suspects and at one point looked at a Baton Rouge serial killer connection, which was later dismissed. A Louisiana State Trooper, Jason Wayne Alston, was publicly identified as a person of interest and provided DNA that cleared him of the Baton Rouge killings; no DNA from the murder scene has been reported and no charges were filed.
No arrests have been made and the case has gone cold, though family members say someone questioned the year after her death was not pursued to trial. Who was the man Teresa left the bar with, and who can fill the gaps in this investigation?
