Hey everyone, I've been reading and thinking about the tragic case of Elian Lopez, the young teen from Indio. It's just so senseless, and my heart goes out to his family and friends who must be enduring unbearable pain. Something that struck me was the location of the shooting – the courtyard of the Cielo Vista Apartments. It's such a public place, which usually makes me think someone must have seen something. Apartments like Cielo Vista usually mean people coming and going at all hours. It was late, but not too late for folks to be getting in after a night out or coming home from work. I'm wondering if there's a chance someone saw a person or a car speeding away? Maybe they heard something right before or after the shots were fired? Even small details could be important. Also, if anyone is familiar with the area, could the courtyard have been a hangout spot for neighborhood kids or teens? Possibly a reason why Elian happened to be there? Hoping more people come forward with any little bits of information that might help piece this puzzle together. Elian's family deserves all the support and answers they can get. Let's keep this conversation going and raise awareness in any way possible. Stay safe, everyone.
