Johnnathen Rivas, 24, was shot and killed on the morning of January 28, 2017, on Orange Avenue near Letts Avenue in Corcoran, California. He was identified as a member of the Norteño gang. Witnesses saw Rivas and Erik Cory Patino together shortly before the shooting, and the killing was reported as gang-related.
Erik Cory Patino was arrested and on September 11, 2017, charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, with special allegations that the offense was committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang and that he personally used and intentionally discharged a firearm causing death. At trial the jury convicted Patino of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, and found the gang and firearm allegations to be true.
Who in Corcoran remembers the area around Orange Avenue and Letts Avenue that morning, or has information about Rivas’s activities and associates leading up to January 28, 2017?
