Dianna Redmon, 65, was found dead in her Shingle Springs, California apartment on January 19, 2017. Her death was initially treated as suspicious by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives tracked a suspect to West Sacramento who was found in possession of more than 5,000 counterfeit pills. That person was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and distribution of a controlled substance. The charges emphasized the deadly risk posed by counterfeit drugs and became the central legal development in the investigation.
