I was reading up on the case of Richard Villanueva and felt drawn to the role of the community during the aftermath of his tragic murder. It's so devastating to think about how his family and friends have had to carry on without answers for so long. The support from the Fresno community has been incredible, though. I saw several local vigils were held in his honor, and it seems like those who knew him have been vocal in keeping his memory alive, hoping it might spark someone to come forward with new information.
It must be so hard for his loved ones to continue every day with this terrible void. I can't imagine the strength it takes to stand by and advocate for justice without letting despair take over.
