German Servin, a 37-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on December 23, 2016, in the 400 block of Harps Street in San Fernando while visiting his brother. The Los Angeles County coroner’s records place the shooting at about 2:07 p.m. Officers found Servin unresponsive on a backyard walkway; he was pronounced dead at 2:50 p.m. after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.

A woman who had a gunshot wound to her abdomen called 911 from a cellphone but could not give the exact address. Servin’s younger brother, who was renting a converted garage room, was found unconscious in a shed-turned-bathroom with an apparent gunshot wound; he was taken to hospital in critical condition and later stabilized. Neighbors reported a Latino man in dark clothing jumping fences and carrying a handgun. The weapon has not been recovered, no arrests have been announced, and investigators have not determined a motive; gang links suggested by tattoos could not be confirmed.

Did anyone in the area see the suspect that afternoon or have information about who might have been moving between yards?
